Father: You were taken from us at such a young age. We miss you and all
that we should have done with you. With love and fond memories. Donna
Dana Plato
This Memorial is dedicated to a very special person. Dana Plato was a child
star that played the starring role in Different Strokes. I feel that it is
very unfair to judge Dana for what her life turned out to be, Knowing that
she was a person like you and me, and everyone has problems, whether it be
drugs, emotional or physical status, race, or religion. I used to watch Dana
on Different Strokes as a little kid, and I loved her. She was a wonderful
person that had many problems and was very tired. I don't believe that she
took her own life, I believe that God sent for her because she was feeling
such pain. He took her, so she would be happy and suffer no more. I want
her to be remembered as a great human being that was taken too soon. She
was wonderful, and my heart goes out to her family and friends, I will always
be a huge fan of Dana's and wonder what she could have been. WE LOVE YOU
DANA, SLEEP WITH THE ANGELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE ALWAYS, COURTNEY
James Lamar Platt10 Nov 1916-28 Feb 1998
James Lamar Platt was a truly unique man My family rented a home from he
and his wife and we rapidly became like family to them. My children grew
up with them and called them MaMa and Uncle Lamar. We were forced to move
about ten miles away, but still remained close. Lamar as we called him struggled
with Diabetes and Heart problems for many years. His wife passed away in
1987 of cancer, so, his daughter was the caregiver when he became seriously
ill. Diane did a wonderful job of caring for him and it wasn't easy. His
mind would drift in and out of reality and he could get very hostile and
combative with her. She never lost her temper. I have so much respect for
her for that. She took care of him all the way to the end, never having lost
control once. She'll never know how proud I am to call her my best friend.
Lamar succumbed to his Diabetes. We miss him very much. We'll especially
miss him during the Holidays. We always had a big family BBQ on Christmas
eve. He loved that so much. This year the porch will be silent. We won't
hear him say "Come in the house!" Or see him enjoy the food he
loved. My daughter Whitney will miss him the most I think. He loved her so.
And she loved him. They had a special kind of relationship. I think most
of all, I'll miss his smile. He will be missed always. Rest Easy Mah! We'll
meet again someday. We'll bring you some BBQ and Pound Cake. We love you.

You were the best brother ever and I miss you so much. It will be two months now since you left and my heart is in so much pain. I wish I could hold you and tell you how much I love you. I didn't say goodbye and that is killing me!. I can't believe your gone because of someone else's negligence driving. May you be happy wherever you are. I now that now you are with mom singing with the rest of the angels. I will love you forever and I can't wait until we meet again.

Daddy,
You left so quickly. We still had so much to do together. You had to teach me how to cut my grass properly, stack my wood straight, hang my christmas lights outside...and so much more.
The hardest for me is knowing you won't be walking me down the isle. That was a dream of mine since I was a little girl.
I know that you are with me always because for about 2:02 minutes every day I think of you.(my dad raced horses and that's the time of a race approx.)
I hope you are finally resting and now you can really saw you are having a beer with Elvis!
I love you daddy! your baby Isabelle
